Position Title: Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery

Location: Watsonville, CA

Job Type: Contract

Pay Rate: $80.00–$84.00/hour

Position Overview:

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking  Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery  for an exciting Travel or Local job in  Watsonville, CA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients.

  • Monitor maternal and fetal status, including performing assessments and documenting findings accurately.

  • Assist physicians during labor, delivery, and postpartum procedures, including emergency interventions.

  • Administer medications and therapies as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to hospital protocols.

  • Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, postpartum care, and newborn care.

  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.

  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.

  • Provide support and guidance to new staff, students, and colleagues as a preceptor or mentor when assigned.

  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records, including electronic documentation.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Must meet requirements for licensure as a Registered Nurse in California.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience in an acute care hospital setting.

  • Completion of applicable hospital and department-specific RN competencies within three months of hire or transfer.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Active California RN license.

  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS.

  • ACLS certification (required prior to completion of orientation and independent assignment).

  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) and AFM (Advanced Fetal Monitoring) certifications required.

Skills and Other Requirements:

  • Basic keyboarding skills and willingness to develop computer competency within six months.

  • Fluent in English; Spanish language skills are desirable.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with patients, families, and team members.
