PARK MAINTENANCE CHIEF I – SANTA CRUZ DISTRICT / SAN MATEO COAST SECTOR / HALF MOON BAY STATE BEACH

The reporting location for this position is Half Moon Bay State Beach in Half Moon Bay, CA. This position will work under the supervision of the Park Maintenance Chief III.

The Park Maintenance Chief I will be responsible for the Facilities Management Program for the San Mateo Coast Sector of the Santa Cruz District, which includes 18 coastal parks, one historic light station, and one natural preserve. This position will collaborate with other planning team members/multi-disciplinary experts and field staff to address planning strategies needed for delivering services within the Sector. This position will coordinate activities and program responsibilities affecting the overall maintenance program.

Training and Development Assignments may be considered.

Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license is required. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver’s license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.

The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.

This position is designated as not telework eligible.

Special Requirement/Condition of Employment: Depending on the assigned location, the incumbent may be required to occupy state-owned housing to meet operational needs or may be offered state-owned housing if available. Housing assignments will be determined in accordance with Department policy, operational priorities, and applicable labor agreements.

Working Conditions

Typical work activities may involve frequent and prolonged periods of standing and walking. May have moderate exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises.
