Job Summary

W e are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Heavy Equipment Operator to operate a variety of earth-moving equipment in a strip mining environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation, servicing, and basic maintenance of heavy machinery used in site operations.

Job Description

• Operate heavy equipment including dozers, loaders, backhoes, off-road trucks, graders, and rock drills.
• Push and manage waste and ore dumps.
  
• Maintain accurate logs of loads, fueling, and equipment servicing.
  
• Perform basic operational maintenance including greasing, fueling, and routine checks on wear parts.
  
• Clean equipment parts such as tracks, buckets, and cabs using shovels, picks, and brooms.
  
• Assist mechanics with equipment repair as needed.
  
• Change lubricants, filters, and replace wear parts as part of regular equipment servicing.
  
• Complete other related duties as assigned.
• Shift: 6pm - 6 am

S kills Required

• Proven experience operating heavy mining or construction equipment preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude for basic equipment servicing and maintenance.
  
• Excellent attention to detail, safety awareness, and teamwork skills.
  
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and shift schedules.
  
• Regularly climb onto and off heavy equipment throughout each shift.
  
• Maintain focus during long periods of repetitive equipment cycles.
  
• Lift, carry, and use heavy-duty tools and wrenches for servicing and support tasks.
  
• Work a rotating shift schedule, including afternoons and graveyards.
  
• Perform repetitive hand and arm movements when using jacks, ratchet wrenches, chain hoists, and come-alongs.

Education

• Highschool diploma or GED

Pay Rate

• $25 per hour and higher depending on experience

• Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
• Report any unsafe conditions, near-misses, injuries, or property damage to a supervisor.
• Participate in all mandatory HSE training, drills, and performance development activities.
• Actively identify and correct unsafe work practices and conditions.
